Bookmobile: Adult and Community

Adult and Community Engagement vehicles visit a wide range of Baltimore County communities with a focus on serving adults, including senior retirement homes, assisted living facilities and community outreach opportunities.

Bookmobile Services

The Bookmobile houses a collection of borrowable materials, including:

  • New and popular titles
  • Large type books
  • Audiobooks on CD and Playaway
  • Magazines
  • DVDs

Materials Requests

You can request any title from the catalog to be sent to a vehicle for pickup at any scheduled bookmobile visit, by selecting Mobile-Adult as your branch when placing a hold request. You may also ask any staff on the Bookmobile or in a branch to request books or other materials for you to pick up on a vehicle. Not sure what to read, watch or listen to? Request a Be Surprised Bundle by calling 410-887-7586.

Returns

Vehicles can accept returns from any branch, and materials checked out from a mobile vehicle may be returned to any branch.

Fees

While the majority of library services are free, fees do apply to lost or damaged items. Fees may be paid on the bookmobiles by using a personal check or money order—cash is not accepted. Fees may also be paid at any branch or online by logging in to Your Account.
