A September Full of Reasons to Visit

  • September 01, 2026
  • By Baltimore County Public Library

Summer may be unofficially coming to an end, but the fun isn’t. There’s no need for the September Scaries at Baltimore County Public Library! We have a packed lineup of activities, giveaways, challenges and more.

Library Cards and Pizza

An hand holding a BCPL library card.

Introducing the VIC (very important card) in your wallet or on your phone—your library card! It gives you full use of library resources, like:

  • borrowing music equipment or hotspots from our Library of Things
  • checking out 100 items at a time
  •  streaming movies, music and shows
  •  participating in our reading challenges

To register, visit the service desk at your local branch or complete the library card registration form (PDF) ahead of time for a quick and easy visit. Discover how the library card has impacted a few of our customers on our YouTube channel.

This September, we're serving up a slice of fun. Register for a new card and receive a voucher for one free eight-inch pizza from any Ledo Pizza Baltimore County location, while supplies last.

Win Disney on Ice Tickets

Anyone who visits a branch between Tuesday, September 1, and Wednesday, September 30, and borrows a physical item will be entered to win a family four-pack of tickets to Disney on Ice at CFG Bank Arena for either Thursday, October 15, at 7 p.m., or Saturday, October 17, at 2:30 p.m. More items does not mean more entries.

Winners will be notified via email on Friday, October 2, and will be able to pick up their prize at their home branch. The odds of winning are based on the number of qualifying participants. Employees of Baltimore County Public Library and their immediate family and household members of such employees are not eligible. Students who use their Student Account identification are also not eligible to win.

Sunday Hours

Sunday hours are returning Sunday, September 13, at seven of our branches throughout the County. From 1 to 5 p.m., customers can browse and check out materials, use computers, reserve meeting and study rooms, print, copy and fax, and attend select programs at the following branches:

  • Arbutus
  • Cockeysville
  • North Point—closed through November 9 for HVAC repair.
  • Perry Hall
  • Pikesville
  • Reisterstown
  • Towson

The service runs annually starting the Sunday after Labor Day through the Sunday before Memorial Day weekend.

Sunday Funday

We're making Sunday hours even sweeter! Come on by from 2 to 3 p.m. to meet a costumed storybook character and get free treats, while supplies last.

We're serving pizza, sweets and Sunday fun this September. Head into any of our 18 open branches to see how the library can help you explore, learn, create and connect.
