Be in Tune With Your Library, Sunday Hours Return
The library is back on beat! After a short summer break, the library’s Sunday hours are returning Sunday, September 7, at seven (7) of its 19 branches. The library strives to meet the needs of its customers in the communities where they work and live. For so many, this means having access to the library’s vital resources seven days a week. The service runs annually starting the Sunday after Labor Day through the Sunday before Memorial Day weekend. The following branches will open to the public on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
These locations saw the most use on pre-pandemic Sundays among other factors, such as space, parking and physical resources like computers. Because the library believes in equal access, the seven branches are spread out geographically throughout the county. The library is open on Sundays for core services, such as access to the physical collection, computers, meeting rooms and study rooms, and printing, copying and faxing. Branches will also hold select programming on Sundays. Some services will not be available, including My Librarian, notary or passport appointments.
Be in Tune With Your Library
To kick off the return of Sunday hours, the library is hosting live music at the seven branches throughout September and October from 2 to 3 p.m. The schedule is as follows:
September 7—Flutist Andrea Brachfeld, Towson Branch
September 14—Classical guitarist Julien Xuereb, Perry Hall Branch
September 21—Jazz vocalist Rhonda Robinson, Arbutus Branch
September 28—Louisianan guitarist Fred Moss, Cockeysville Branch
October 5—Jazz and R&B pianist Justin Taylor, North Point Branch
October 12—Bass clarinetist Todd Marcus, Owings Mills Branch
October 19—Harpist Jacqueline Pollauf, Pikesville Branch
Win Concert Tickets
Anyone who comes into a branch on any Sunday between September 7 and October 12 to borrow a physical item will be entered to win concert tickets to Little Feat on Friday, October 24, at The Lyric, or Billy Strings at CFG Arena on Friday, October 31. More items does not mean more entries.
Winners will be notified via email on Wednesday, October 15, and will be able to pick up their prize at their home branch. The odds of winning are based on the number of qualifying participants. Employees of Baltimore County Public Library and their immediate family and household members of such employees are not eligible. Students who use their student account identification are also not eligible to win.
