Mobile Library Services (MLS) vehicles provide library access for Baltimore County residents across the community.
For Adults and Communities
MLS vehicles visit senior centers, retirement communities, assisted living facilities, special needs schools and designated community locations. They provide access to:
New and popular titles, including large print
Books for children of all ages
Audiobooks on CD
You can request any material from the catalog to be sent to a vehicle for pick up by selecting Mobile Library Services as your branch when placing a hold request. You can also ask any branch staff to request a book for you.
Our vehicles accept returns from any branch, and materials checked out from MLS may be returned to any branch.
Fees can be paid on the vehicles by using a personal check or money order—cash is not accepted. Fees may also be paid at any branch of the library or online by logging into My Account.
For Children and Child Care Providers
Read Rover vehicles visit licensed child care providers and home school providers, offering access to materials and Story Time programs to develop early literacy skills.
Themed newsletters are distributed quarterly containing book lists, reading tips, a rhyme or fingerplay activity and a craft. Picture books, teacher resources, age-appropriate nonfiction, concept books, CDs, DVDs and storytelling materials are all available for checkout to support reading readiness.
