Mobile Engagement: Adult and Community
Adult and Community Engagement mobile vehicles visit a wide range of Baltimore County communities with a focus on serving adults including senior retirement homes, assisted living facilities, special needs schools and community outreach opportunities.
We provide access to library materials and services to those that have obstacles to visiting our branches or may not be aware of our services, and strive to enrich the lives of those we serve through high-interest programming and engagement.
Mobile vehicle staff can provide one-on-one personal assistance with prescheduled customer appointments at our scheduled stops where you can learn how to download e-books, audiobooks or e-magazines. Book a My Librarian appointment and choose Mobile—Adult as your location. A library card is recommended.
The Adult and Community Engagement mobile vehicles house a collection of borrowable materials, including:
- New and popular titles
- Large type books
- Audiobooks on CD
You can request any titles from the catalog to be sent to a vehicle for pickup by selecting Mobile—Adult as your branch when placing a hold request. You may also ask any staff on the mobile vehicle or in a branch to request books or other materials for you to pick up on a vehicle.
Vehicles can accept returns from any branch, and materials checked out from a mobile vehicle may be returned to any branch.
Fees may be paid on the vehicles by using a personal check or money order—cash is not accepted. Fees may also be paid at any branch or online by logging in to Your Account.
