Free Tax Help at the Library

Baltimore County Public Library offers a variety of resources and assistance to help you during the tax season. Whether you prepare your own taxes or rely on outside help to do it for you, check out these programs and materials available to you at no cost.
The CASH Campaign of Maryland is offering free tax preparation for individuals and families earning $56,000 or less. Services are available at the Randallstown branch by appointment only.

Essex and North Point
Free tax preparation is available through the CASH Campaign of Maryland’s Valet Tax service. Schedule an intake appointment with library staff who submit your tax documentation to the certified preparers at CASH. CASH prepares your return and files it with the IRS, generally within one week of your intake.
If you prefer to do your taxes yourself, have questions about doing your own taxes or are wondering where to get the forms you need, the resources listed below will help.
- Browse our catalog to find books that help you minimize taxes, maximize deductions and prepare your own taxes.
- Federal Tax—View or print IRS tax forms, instructions and publications. To have printed IRS forms and instructions mailed to you, call 1-800-829-FORM (3676).
- State Tax—Use Maryland's free iFile service to file your state tax return online. To have printed Maryland forms and instructions mailed to you, call 410-260-7951 or use TTY through Maryland Relay by calling 711.
