Donate Your Formal Wear for Prom Closet
February 12, 2020 | By Baltimore County Public Library
Prom season is approaching and many teens in and around Baltimore County won’t be able to attend this year-end celebration because they can’t afford to buy dress clothing. As no student should miss an event because they have nothing to wear, the library is collecting formal wear for its upcoming Prom Closet prom clothing giveaways.
If you have prom attire that you won’t wear again—a dress, fancy shoes, a formal suit, tuxedo or accessories—visit your favorite library through Friday, February 21, to donate these items.
Gently used or new donations can be placed in the Prom Closet bins located in the entry area of each of our 19 locations. All sizes, styles, colors and lengths are gratefully accepted.
About Prom Closet
Prom Closet giveaways will be held at the North Point and Owings Mills branches on Saturday, April 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 5, from 1 to 4 p.m. Attendees will be invited to peruse the collection, try on clothing and accessories, and leave with one ensemble free-of-charge for the big dance.
