Enter the Tech It Out Video Competition for Teens

Teens in grades six through 12 who have an interest in creating their own videos won’t want to miss this opportunity to enter our "Tech It Out" video making competition. Submissions are being accepted through Friday, November 1

Judging Criteria

Create a one- to three-minute, original video that highlights an issue in the world or your community that is important to you, in any genre or style. Entries are judged based on:

  • Creativity and originality
  • Visuals
  • Audio and music
  • Use of resources and technology
  • Clarity of the story or theme

The judges include staff with experience in video production, including members of our Virtual and Media Services Department.


A middle and high school winner (total of six winners) will be chosen to receive the following prizes:

  • First place winners: $100 Visa gift card
  • Second place winners: $75 Visa gift card
  • Third place winners: $50 Visa gift card

There will also be a seventh winner for "Staff Pick" who will receive a $25 Visa gift card.

How to Submit Your Entry

Video submissions can be posted on YouTube using the title, “BCPL Tech It Out 2019: (Your Video Title).” For your entry to be complete, you must submit a consent and permission form, available at any of our branches.

Awards Ceremony

Videos will be shown, winners announced and prizes will be awarded at the Tech It Out Awards Ceremony on Saturday, November 16, at the Perry Hall Branch at 2 p.m.
