Do you have a prom dress you won’t wear again? Fancy shoes? A formal suit or tuxedo? Accessories? Great! Through Friday, March 22, your favorite library is the place to go to donate these items.

Prom season is approaching and many teens in and around Baltimore County won’t be able to attend this year-end celebration because they can’t afford to buy dress clothing. As no student should miss an event because they have nothing to wear, the library is collecting formal wear for its upcoming Prom Closet—a prom clothing giveaway on Saturday, April 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Owings Mills Branch. Attendees will be invited to peruse the collection, try on clothing and accessories and leave with one ensemble free of charge for the big dance.

Gently used or new donations can be placed in the Prom Closet bins located in the entry area of each of our 19 locations. All sizes, styles, colors and lengths are gratefully accepted.
