Do you have a great idea for a small business but don’t know how to launch it? Have you already started a business but are unsure how to take it to the next level? Are you interested in being your own boss?

Beginning March 9, Baltimore area entrepreneurs looking to start, run or improve a small business need to look no further for information and guidance than their local library. Baltimore County Public Library and Enoch Pratt Free Library are hosting Entrepreneur Academy, a series of workshops designed to develop, launch or improve small businesses.

Register for the Free Workshops

The free workshops will take place at our Woodlawn Branch and Pratt’s Edmondson Avenue Branch. View the workshop schedule and select the location that’s most convenient to you. Registration is required. To fully benefit from the Academy, participants are asked to attend all of the workshops.

Participants in the series of nine workshops will learn about marketing research and business strategies, financing options, record keeping and taxes and developing business plans. Attendees will also be able to work with legal, financial, insurance and accounting advisers, and take advantage of networking opportunities along with extensive library and business resources.

In addition to the workshops, library branches will have dedicated, trained staff who can assist entrepreneurs one-on-one by appointment via My Librarian.
