Legacy Web Volunteer Opportunity

:

Volunteer for Baltimore County Legacy Web
(Historic Image Digitizing)

HOURS
:

Flexible; minimum 2-hour work sessions.
Mornings and afternoons; No evenings or weekends.

LOCATION
:

Administrative Offices (Towson Library Mezzanine)
BCPL Information Services Department, 320 York Road, Towson

NATURE OF WORK
:

Under the direction of the Volunteer Coordinator, assists with the development of a digital image collection and descriptions of historic photographs of Baltimore County. Primary responsibilities include use of a computer scanner and Windows software for scanning, cropping, image quality improvement, and editing descriptions. Challenging variations in the appearance of photographs require patience, an eye for detail, and affinity for the historic subject matter.

QUALIFICATIONS
:

All training will be provided. The Volunteer Coordinator and experienced volunteers will be available for assistance as needed. Desire to work with others as part of a team. Physical ability to use a computer keyboard, scanner and telephone. Ability to use a standard installation of Microsoft Windows, on a non-customized computer shared with other volunteers.
