Baltimore County Public Library has made a commitment to serve its
increasingly multilingual population. Korean, Russian, and Spanish
materials
have been purchased for the library branches. This site will help speakers of these
languages to find library services, community services, and
links to web resources in their own language.
Foreign Language Collections
Korean -
Cockeysville
and
Towson
have fiction and non-fiction books for adults and children.
Russian - Russian materials for adults and
children can be found at
Pikesville,
Randallstown
and
Reisterstown.
A small collection of
entertainment or
feature two-day DVDs
in Russian for adults are available at Pikesville and Reisterstown.
Spanish - Children's books, mainly picture
books, in Spanish and bi-lingual Spanish and English can be found at all
branches.
Catonsville,
Essex,
North Point
and
Towson
have collections of fiction and non-fiction for adults and older children.
If you need any assistance please stop by at the Information Desk and the
librarians will be happy to assist you.
Books, tapes and CDs for learning foreign languages are
available at all branches and can be found in the non-fiction section of
the library.
Language Line

The library provides translations for customers who may
not be fluent in English. Questions can be answered in over 140
languages using an over-the-phone translation service. Call or visit
any of our
libraries
or departments of the library
and
staff
members will use the service to
assist you.
