Baltimore County Public Library has made a commitment to serve its increasingly multilingual population. Korean, Russian, and Spanish materials have been purchased for the library branches. This site will help speakers of these languages to find library services, community services, and links to web resources in their own language.
Foreign Language Collections
Korean - Cockeysville, Parkville and Towson have fiction and non-fiction books for adults and children.
Russian - Russian materials for adults and children can be found at Pikesville, Randallstown and Reisterstown. Small collections of entertainment or feature two-day DVDs in Russian for adults are available at Pikesville and Reisterstown.
Spanish - Children's books, mainly picture books, in Spanish and bi-lingual Spanish and English can be found at all branches. Catonsville, Essex, North Point, Perry Hall and Towson have collections of fiction and non-fiction for adults and older children and a small collection of two-day loan entertainment DVDs.
Learning languages: Many Baltimore County Public Library branches have books, CDs, and DVDs in other languages to help you learn a language or to master English as a second language.
If you need any assistance please stop by at the Information Desk and the librarians will be happy to help you.
Language Line
The library provides translations for customers who may not be fluent in English. Questions can be answered in over 140 languages using an over-the-phone translation service. Call or visit any of our libraries or departments of the library and staff members will use the service to assist you.
