Gives information and referral to financial resources available to older adults living in Baltimore County.

Baltimore County Office of Child Support Enforcement

Enforces child and spousal support court orders obtained through divorce proceedings or through the Baltimore County Establishment Unit. Searches for the absent parent, proves the paternity of the child, gets a court order for support, collects support payments, enforces the court order and reviews and modifies the court order. Persons applying for Temporary Cash Assistance must file for child support before receive cash assistance.

In addition to eviction prevention assistance, CAN offers mortgage delinquency and default resolution counseling and resources for helping clients make utility payments. Offices in Catonsville, Dundalk, Hillendale, Lansdowne, Randallstown and Rosedale.

Application for financial grant for rent or bill-paying assistance can be completed after attending a family spending class. No money given on the spot. Must live in Reisterstown, Owings Mills or Glyndon.

Trained financial counselors provide assistance with budgeting, debt management, mortgage delinquency and foreclosure prevention, reverse mortgage, and housing for new and existing homeowners. Branch offices in Bel Air, Brooklyn Park, Catonsville, Essex, Owings Mills and Parkville.

Provides benefits to persons who are unemployed through no fault of their own and who are ready, willing and able to work, and actively seeking work. Your first claim can be filed via the Internet at mdunemployment.com or by telephone to your nearest claim center. All unemployment insurance services are conducted by telephone and mail. All claim centers take claims by telephone only.

Pays benefits to disabled adults and children who have limited income and resources and to people 65 and older without disabilities who meet the financial limits. Offers referrals to other Social Security services.

Financial assistance available to eviction notice victims. Limited to once a year. Must show proof of residency and eviction notice to obtain help. Also for water bill, utility turn-off or mortgage foreclosures and to purchase heating oil, prescriptions and medical services/supplies.

Experienced staff members help callers explore their problems and connects them of the public, nonprofit and private community resources that can help with their situation. This service is free and confidential. Callers may remain anonymous. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
