Violence Crisis Shelters
If you or someone you know is being physically,
emotionally, or sexually abused or
neglected, it is important to get help right away. Physical abuse means that
you have been injured intentionally by a parent, person who is responsible
for caring for you, family member, or a household member. Sexual abuse means
the abuser has sexual contact with you or suggests or does something sexual
that causes you to believe you are being taken advantage of. Sexual abuse
can happen to either girls or boys. Neglect means that your caretaker fails
to meet your basic needs. If something is happening to you or has happened
in the past that you think might be child abuse or neglect, you should
get in touch with any health, education, or social services professional or
an agency.
