We also provide ten personal computers which offer Internet and E-mail access as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. In addition, wireless Internet access is available throughout the building. The library has a large meeting room available for booking by community groups and businesses as well as a smaller conference room suitable for tutoring and individual or group study.
The library offers Books for Babies programs, weekly preschool storytimes and other fun, educational programs for children. The children's area boasts a vibrant, hand-painted mural and an Early Literacy Activity Center. Each summer the library's Summer Reading Program uses a fun game board and prizes to encourage children to read all summer. Volunteer opportunities for middle school students accompany the Summer Reading program. Year round service learning and adult volunteer programs are also a part of the library's offerings.
Every Saturday, the
Lansdowne Library offers a free preschool storytime at 10:30 a.m.
The Lansdowne Library officially opened on Saturday, April 8, 2006.
