The Catonsville Library features a full service library, a Catonsville historical room and public meeting room. The beautiful children's courtyard mural, 24-hour book drop and quiet periodical room all play an integral part in making the Catonsville library the third busiest branch in Baltimore County. Dedicated in 1963, the library itself is situated on a historical landmark - Castle Thunder - which was the home of the Caton family, founders of Catonsville.

The Catonsville Room:
Housed in the library is a selection of documents, photographs, news articles and family histories about the area. It is open on Thursdays from 2 to 5 p.m. and on the first Wednesday of each month from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Appointments accepted for in-depth research.
