About This Branch

History of the Catonsville Branch

The Catonsville Branch was dedicated in 1963 and features a full service library, the Catonsville History Room and a public meeting room. The beautiful children's courtyard mural, 24-hour book drop and quiet periodical room all play an integral part in making the Catonsville library the third busiest branch in Baltimore County.

Services:

Local History

The Catonsville Branch is situated on a historical landmark - Castle Thunder - which was the home of the Caton family, founders of Catonsville. Additionally, you can find historic information on the Catonsville community via the following webpages:

The Catonsville Room is a collection of documents, photographs, news articles and family histories about Catonsville and the surrounding area. It is open on Thursdays from 2 to 5 p.m. and on the first Wednesday of each month from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Appointments accepted for in-depth research.
